Leap Counseling · Kansas City

Trauma care that shows up where it’s needed most.

A bilingual, trauma-informed practice founded by Diana Williams, LSCSW, CCTS-I. We provide therapy, mental health education, and in-school care for uninsured students who would otherwise go without.

What Leap does

Three ways we show up.

  1. Therapy

Individual, trauma-informed therapy in English and Spanish for adolescents 15+ and adults, in person or by telehealth.

  2. Education

Workshops, trainings, and community events that make mental health practical and approachable.

  3. Student care

Therapy inside the school for uninsured students, coordinated with the counselors, teachers, and social workers around them.

Why it matters

Many students never reach a therapist’s office.

  • No insurance.
  • No ride to appointments.
  • Parents who can’t miss work.
  • Long intakes and stacks of forms.

So Diana goes to them.

She works inside the school, calls families directly, and sits down with the adults who support each student. A referral can become a first session in days, not months.

How Diana works

Healing begins with understanding.

Understanding why we think, feel, and respond the way we do is an important part of personal growth and healing.

  1. The brain
  2. The body
  3. Our relationships

As a Mexican-born, bilingual therapist, I understand that culture, family dynamics, immigration experiences, and generational expectations can play an important role in our mental health.

For sponsors and foundations

Your support keeps a therapist in the building.

Therapy at school removes the obstacles that keep students from care. Sponsors help make that care possible for students without insurance.

  • Weekly therapy at school
  • Direct outreach to families, in English and Spanish
  • Coordination with school counselors, teachers, and social workers
